Indian classical music can be compared to jazz as both are forms of improvised music. Indian classical music is linear and uses just one scale (raga) to improvise within a composition whereas jazz has a much broader palette for improvisation where multiple scales can be used to improvise through harmonic changes.

Started his formal training of classical music in a very tender age from his father the prominent Clarinet player of India Pt. Ram Krishna. Accompanying his father in various music concerts, today Priyank Krishna is carving out a niche for himself in the field of Saxophone. In his recital Priyank likes to combine the melody of Gayaki and intricacies of Tantrakari Styles along with keeping the effectiveness of a western instrument.
